Hey MVChinese Clubbers! Our third meeting of the year will be dedicated to all the spooky scary spirits that roam around us this time of year including vampires, zombies, and foxes as well as some of the unfortunate tasks and places you will go to if you don't clean your plate. We'll also be talking about other fun stuff and more so bring your friends and come join us in A203 this Thursday! Also don't forget to fill out our quick membership form so we know how much food to bring for this meeting! http://bit.ly/15Hg65w Foxy Fact of the Week: Many Asian cultures including Chinese, Korea, and Japanese believed foxes were highly seductive female demons who were extremely devious and cunning. Many would lure their prey - usually men - into sleeping with and killing them by ripping and eating their hearts out. They would gain a tail each time and after nine tails, turn into their human form. The nine tail concept is popularized today by Japanese animes such as Naruto and the Pokemon Ninetails. Nowadays, if we want to call someone a backstabber or accuse them of adultery, we call her a fox spirit - or 狐狸精 (Hu Li Jing). |
